To ensure our continual commitment to our customers, our premium export-quality organic oysters are harvested from state certified growing areas which are continually monitored for quality by the joint US-Mexican National shellfish Sanitation Program under the Mexican Ministry of health and the Food and Drug Administration’s purity standards. |
|
The cultivation, harvest, packaging and handling of oysters during their distribution are carried out under strict norms and standards that ensure optimal conditions of organoleptic and microbiological quality until their final delivery to the consumer. Immediately after harvest, oysters are washed and mechanically graded prior to being hand packaged. |

Additionally, as a raw shellstock shipper (FDA Shipper Certificate # MX-1-SS), Sol Azul has adopted strict hygienic and sanitary procedures in conformance with the standards of the HACCP Seafood Inspection Program of the Food and Drug Administration and their equivalent Mexican Offical Norms NOM-031-SSA1 and NOM-128-SSA1. Sol Azul has also been granted the Certificate of Best Aquaculture Practices (production and packaging) by the Mexican National Service for Sanitary and Innocuity Quality of Food (SENASICA). |

The Sol Azul oyster has also been certified as an ‘organic product’ by Bio-Agricert/IFOAM. More recently, Sol Azul has been recognized and distinguished as a leading ‘Producer Partner’ by FishWise, due to its commitment to sustainable and best seafood aquaculture practices. |
