Social Development

desarrolloBesides producing over 600 tons per year of high-quality seafood demanded by the growing Mexican population, Sol Azul has contributed to the social and economic development of the region, not only through the generation of direct employment, but also by supporting various oyster culture projects undertaken by cooperative societies, a rural production group, and two other private small-scale enterprises.

The above reiterates Sol Azul’s regional benefits, including the creation of jobs, and the generation of foreign currency through exports. Sol Azul has also undertaken several efforts aimed towards social development, including a desalinizing plant to generate drinking water, schools, reforestation of magroves, and many others.

Sol Azul is well-integrated within the “El Vizcaíno” Biosphere Reserve,  joining conservation and sustainable development in a region that has few other sources of employment, services and infrastructure.
