LOCATION OF FARMS

The “Sol Azul, farms are located in the intertidal area of the El Cardón estuary, in San Ignacio lagoon, municipality of Mulegé, and in the Manuela lagoon, municipality of Ensenada, in on the Pacific coast of the Baja Peninsula.  These lagoons are the most pristine waters in Mexico, and are part of the “El Vizcaíno” Biosphere Reserve. Both are remote sites, free of polllution, and ideally suited for the sustainable culture of bivalve mollusks. They have excellent water and soil quality, temperature, and tidal flushing.

The surface area of the aquaculture lease at El Cardón is 160 ha, in addition to 10 ha on land where the packaging plant and nursery are located. The surface area of the aquaculture lease at Laguna Manuela is 40 ha. The company has three offices: the administrative and marketing office is located in Ensenada, B.C., the technical management office is in La Paz, B.C.S., and the Operations office is in Santa Rosalía, B.C.S.
